About the ArtistIllustrator Deborah Anne Ewan
I love the history and the atmosphere in Scotland and I often interpret this energy into my artwork. In the summer of 2006 my family visited Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. We saw many stone circles there, the main stone circle is called Cullanish. I have always been interested in myth, fantasy, and megalithic sites, so this was very inspirational for me. I graduated from Montclair State University with a BA in Fine Art with a concentration in Illustration in May of 2007. I am interested in many different things, I have been practicing yoga for eight years and currently am a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. I have been horseback riding since I was 7 years old. I love to read and do so every chance I get. I enjoy to expand my knowledge, and I reflect this into my artwork. The themes of my artwork are created in a mythical world. I am interested in many different types of mythology, especially Celtic, since these are my roots. I like to create images of different types of Goddesses, Gods, Mythical creatures, such as faeries, elves and dragons. Also I create artwork of horses, dogs, cats and many mythical and exotic animals. Creating my images in a unique way with my use of colour, and I also create dramatic black and white images in charcoal. My colour images are created in many different mediums, including, pastel, coloured pencil, oil, acrylic and watercolour. ~Debbie Ewan
